It did not take long for the UFC to return to ESPN+, following a weekend in London that saw Jorge Masvidal put his hands on not just Darren Till but Leon Edwards too.
The streaming service has become a close partner with the top MMA promotion in the world. On Monday, news broke that ESPN will now be the UFC’s exclusive pay-per-view provider through 2025.
So the partnership is strong heading into the weekend for UFC Nashville, headlined by a pair of exhilarating strikers Stephen Thompson and Anthony Pettis.
Both men return to the cage coming off a loss. Thompson, a two-time welterweight title challenger, presents a stern test for Pettis’ first action in the 170-pound division and fittingly opened as the betting favorite at over one-four odds (-440).
Though if anybody can overcome those odds, it is a stylist with snapping kicks and a dynamic submission game like Pettis.
