In haste, Israel Adesanya was promoted to the main event of UFC 234 against the legendary Anderson Silva. In halcyon, the 29-year-old dynamo doubled the former champion in total strikes (65-34), earning a unanimous decision victory in Melbourne, Australia.

Speaking with Jon Anik after the fight, Adesanya only had reverence for his latest opponent: “This is like, for a kid, just to play—if I’m playing basketball—to play against Michael Jordan.”
