Relive Edson Barboza’s Amazing Flying Knee Knockout

Almost a decade in the UFC and it’s hard for Edson Barboza to outdo himself. Yet, he does—time and time again.

Things were no different at UFC Fortaleza in 2017. With accolades in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and submissions making up most of his stoppage victories, Beneil Dariush gave Barboza more fits than the backyard fighter expected through one and a half rounds. But in Round 2 of their lightweight matchup, the Brazilian pierced his his opponent through the skull with a flying knee that immediately stretched Dariush out on his back.

The KO was the eleventh of Barboza’s career—he would make it a dozen against Dan Hooker—and gave him yet another fight night bonus.
