The promotional bantamweight title is on the line at Future FC 7. And the event will be aired live on Youtube from Sao Paulo, Brazil. The 12-fight bill will be headlined by the young upstart Herbeth “Indio” Sousa (13-1) and his countryman Taigro Costa (15-4). The main card is set to kick off at 6 p.m. ET.
Sousa, 25, is unbeaten in his last three bouts. Four months ago at Future FC 3, he made his debut for the promotion, marking the occasion with a first-round submission of Shooto Brasil standout Glyan Alves. The lone loss of Sousa’s career, back in 2016, came at the hands of ACB veteran Paulo Oliveira.
Costa, a 31-year-old Brazilian nicknamed the Polar Bear—”Urso Branco,” is a four-time competitor of the world-renowned ACB outfit, putting together a .500 record in the Russian promotion. He fights for the gold on Saturday after returning to his homeland for Future FC 5, where he submitted Claudio Marcelino in three rounds.
Making up the co-main event are a pair of surging lightweights: Anderson Ferreira (13-1) vs. Jackson Loureiro (8-0-1).
