In the main event of UFC Nashville, Anthony Pettis’ first action in the welterweight division was anything but a walk in the park. After receiving a punishing taste of Stephen Thompson’s counterpunching ability in the opening frame, Pettis went “Showtime” in Round 2 and put “Wonderboy” to bed with a superman punch knockout.
It was the 10th KO victory of Pettis’ career. In addition to eighth submission wins, the former lightweight champion hardly sees the final scorecards. Similarly, three other fighters on the card were in no need of the judges’ opinion.
