The two men topping the bill at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) had a chance to express some of their thoughts ahead of the promotion’s visit to Mississippi. Artem Lobov, best known for training alongside MMA superstar Conor McGregor, and Jason Knight are both former UFC fighters.
Lobov made no bones about it, saying a big reason for jumping ship from the UFC was money. “We’re prizefighters,” he said. “I’d be lying if I didn’t say money was a part of the reason. This is how we make our living. Right now, I’m making more than 90 percent of the UFC fighters.”
Knight, a native of Mississippi who recently opened a gym there, is a huge fan of the convenience this event brings him.
“Bareknuckle just makes sense,” Knight said. “It doesn’t go against my record. It’s a UFC-calibre show right here at the house.”
